Pork in the Park

Remember the giant turtle ? Remember the rabbit following his master on the street like a dog ? I was wondering what kind of strange pet I will randomly meet next in this crazy Tokyo. Wel, this morning, I got the answer.

A pig. Adult one. Yes. (Remind me something)

cochon_2

Don't ask me why.

It was Sunday morning at Rinshi-no-Mori Park close to Musashi-Koyama station. The master was, like usual, a sweet Japanese grandfather. The "pet" was, as usual, amazingly clean and quiet.

I still can't believe it, can you ?...

So, let's bet about the next strange pet : I hesitate between a zebra and a baby giraffe.

What do you say ?

Life in Pink - バラ色の人生

This is the same beauty every year, but I just can't get enough ! Tokyo at spring is totally pink, from the sakura to the sky. Have a walk under the cherry trees, by a sunny Sunday, and let's go back with blossoms in the hair and brand new hope in the heart !

Sweet gift

A gift from my co-worker... because I had the honor to welcome her at my place the night of the earthquake, when all the trains were stopped... This world is crazy. Am I supposed to receive nice peach darjeeling tea when I do something that I fully enjoy ??? People, you make a spoiled kid of me.

Hiroshima mon Amour

There is a family in Hiroshima that I carry in my heart forever. Not only they occasionnally welcome me since my first homestay at their place in 2007, but they also offered me a shelter when I needed it and I just don' know how to express my feelings toward them. They are warm, kind, gracious people and I LOVE THEM SO MUCH.

この家族に心からありがたいです。色々手伝ってくれて、ずっと覚えます。

Sweet Memories of 17x3 : Ginkakuji

It feels unreal but three weeks ago, we were enjoying the simple fact to be in Japan without wasting one second thinking of tsunami or radioactivity. Everthing was so peaceful. With Mum and Sis', we went to Kyoto and visited the so famous Ginkakuji. It was beautiful, it was moving... But this beauty still stands proudly in Japan, balancing in our hearts the terrible pictures of endless ruins from the region of Tohoku. The heart of Japan beats strongly enough to heal the wounds of the country...

Japan is a wonderful contry between the quakes (2)

Watching Tokyo by night from a high place is the best way to feel the poetry of the city and the Japanese society. For me, Japanese lights are the symbol of the Japanese people's energy. When you see Tokyo by night, you understand that the city has been countlessly destroyed in the past by  earthquakes, fires, and bombing. But people re-build it again. And it will may destroyed again in the future, but it will never prevent the Japanese people to build and build again. This city is not made of stones. This city is standing on the Japanese people's hearts and souls.

I love you, Japan. Be brave. You will survive. You are the champion of surviving.

Japan is a wonderful country between the quakes (1)

Dear friends and readers,

The author of this blog is fine and safe after the earthquake that we experience in Japan last Friday. I will tell you another day in details how scary it was when Tokyo was shaking under my feet and how scarier it is now we have to care about Fukushima's nuclear leaks.

Today, let's celebrate Japan for what it is between the quakes : a peaceful, quiet, clean and safe country.

My mother and my sister, who have a kind of good angel above their lovely heads, left Japan by plane Friday at noon, just a few hours before the big mess. Thanks God, I did not have to worry for them. But as a result, they double worry for me. Anyway. Just a few days ago, we were in paradise.

Japan was Love, Love, Love

purikura_5

Let me tell you what we did together. It was the first time for my mother to come to Japan; during daytime my Japanexpert-little sister guided her around Tokyoand we met at night all together. We had :

Onsen at Odaiba Onsen Monogatari

2011, Year of the Rabbit

Last year, the Most Original Pet Award has been given to the giant turtle that a Japanese old man was showing around along the Kanda riverside (Nishi-Waseda, Shinjuku-ku).
This year, at Musashi-Koyama (Shinagawa-ku), it has been difficult to find better but finally, I found out that having a walk with a rabbit on the street was more difficult than with a turtle. I give you the star of the neighborhood : Mei-chan the rabbit.

Life in Plastic - it's fantastic

I was shopping walking around Harajuku and suddenly I saw this :

yamapi_hadakanbo

Pinky Winky is back again. Yes, Yamapi's new meaningless single and album ! This kind of things make me feel younger !

Here is the last "crime" comitted by the elite of the Japanese boys-band industry...
